Under the Yellow Umbrella South Celebrates Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on Historic Main Street
ST. CHARLES, MO — The St. Charles Regional Chamber, along with community leaders, local officials, and residents, officially welcomed Under the Yellow Umbrella South to the historic district on Monday, June 1, 2026 with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Located at 418 S. Main Street, this marks the second historic area location for the popular local business.
Owned and operated by Susan Davis and John Lyerla, Under the Yellow Umbrella South offers a unique shopping experience described as an "in-person Etsy store." The new location showcases a curated collection of handmade, vintage, and boutique items from more than 30 independent vendors, establishing it as a premier destination for shoppers seeking one-of-a-kind gifts.
The celebration drew strong support from the local community and government representatives. In attendance to mark the milestone were board members and ambassadors from the St. Charles Regional Chamber, City of St. Charles Economic Development Director Kory Goodman, Ward 3 Councilman Mark Hollander, and Christa Montgomery representing U.S. Congressman Bob Onder. A large crowd of family, friends, and loyal customers also gathered to tour the new space and congratulate the owners.
"We are thrilled to expand our presence on Main Street and continue supporting local makers and small businesses," said co-owner Susan Davis. "Having so many community leaders, friends, and customers here to celebrate this opening with us means the world, and we look forward to being a part of this vibrant district for years to come."
Under the Yellow Umbrella South is now open for regular business hours at 418 S. Main Street. Visitors are encouraged to explore the diverse marketplace and support the local artisans featured throughout the store.
