The Small Business of the Year winner was selected through a rigorous, blind rubric grading process conducted by a select committee of regional business professionals. Best Choice Roofing of Greater St. Louis stood out as the clear selection due to its exceptional trajectory and operational excellence across all judging categories:

Business Growth & Innovation: Under Baird’s leadership, the company scaled from $0 to $5.5 million in revenue within its first two years and is positioned to double that over the next two. By leveraging a technology-first approach—including advanced CRM systems, satellite measurements, and automation—they have modernized traditional roofing operations. With a newly completed Illinois state certification, the business is currently expanding into markets across the river.

Management & Human Capital: In response to early turnover challenges, Best Choice Roofing completely overhauled its onboarding process by doubling the training timeline and introducing a structured internal certification program. This dedication to development, alongside weekly scorecards and clear advancement pathways, has successfully built a reliable team of more than 15 employees.

Culture & Intangibles: Built on a foundation of strict accountability and solution-oriented service, the company has earned a 4.9-star Google rating, an Angi Super Service Award, Thumbtack Top Pro status, and a Nextdoor Neighborhood Fave designation.
